The Friesian Horse Association of Great Britain and Ireland Ltd is run for enthusiasts and owners of one of the rarest breeds in this country. Members receive a regular newsletter and can subscribe to the Dutch Phryso magazine from the FPS in the Netherlands. The Friesian Horse Association of North America also produce a publication in English called The Friesian.

Advice can be given on insurance values, stallion selection and AI and suggestions on travel arrangements and accommodation when attending the social events or perhaps the Stallion Grading in the Netherlands in January.

We aim to arrange regular social and Friesian Horse events and an annual Inspection is held on alternate years in the UK and Ireland.

Brought back from the brink of extinction as recently as 1965 this battle proven war horse is undoubtedly one of the most sensible, reliable and charismatic horses available on the equestrian scene today. A true head turner in every sense.

Look into the eye of a Friesian and at the bottom of that deep well you will find a knowledgeable smugness matched only by the likes of nobility. Irrespective of the meagerness of your trailer or box, when you arrive with a Friesian, eyebrows begin to raise as if you were escorting a Head of State. As the ramp is lowered lesser equines prepare themselves for the imminent eclipse and move smartly out of the way in search of light. To dismiss these black pearls as mere carriage horses is to be ignorant of their true abilities. We are but custodians of these magnificent beasts here to preserve their heritage and line..
